Material-Specific Best Practices
Stainless Steel Blanks
- Remove all lids, rubber bases, and plastic straws before applying heat.
- Tape seams tightly using high-temp tape to avoid ghosting.
- For full wraps in a press, rotate 180° and press again.
Glass Cans & Tumblers
- Ensure glass is at room temp to prevent thermal shock breaking.
- Use light pressure only—excess force shatters glass.
- Cool down naturally; never submerge hot glass in cold water.
Ceramic Mugs
- Avoid placing main graphics too close to the handle area.
- Wrap transfer paper firmly to prevent edge blurring.
- Thicker mugs may require an extra 15–20 seconds of heat.
Troubleshooting Quick Fixes
Faded or Dull Colors: Under-baking. Increase temp by 5°F or add 10 seconds. Check pressure firmness.
Browning or Dark Edges: Over-baking. Ink and coating are scorching. Reduce press time immediately.
Ghosting / Shadow Lines: Paper moved. Peel transfer paper quickly and firmly while hot.
